You know at first, I was going to call this album The Mundane.
Oh wait – Did I mention the new album? Doh, yeah, it drops 2/14/24. Sure, that’s Valentine’s Day, but No, there’s nothing really romantic about the album. (Though I guess it does get close with “Whatever It Was”.)
But Yeah, I was going to call this album The Mundane. But when I compiled all the songs, I noticed that a majority of them featured the words “I don’t…” in some way. And thinking about it a second, looking at the songs, I can see a major theme: Identity. Saying “I don’t [X]” is like saying “I am not [X]”. I will tell you who I am by telling you who I’m not.
This struck me as profoundly true, especially nowadays as I squint down the road of my twilight years. Who am I, now that my time is short and the end draws nigh? How should I spend these seconds as they tick by?

Four of these have been released – I DON’T CARE, Urban Creatures, Whatever It Was, and It’s Time. The rest follow in their funky, danceable footsteps, though the last track – I Don’t Wanna Kitty Cat – goes it’s own way.
