Sometimes you just have to go back to some previously inspired thought that the muse brought and see where it goes. This time, it went to Urban Creatures (dropping 8-16-23). It was just a word-play title that suggests all sorts of things. And when it came time to write the lyrics, I was surprised how easily they came: Guess that just goes to show how much of an urban creature I am, stuck behind my chain link fence.
This one is in the same vein as Wild Man – in a singalong sort of way – but a tad more urbane and anthem-y, and it’s better suited to my old-man voice.
Shot some video for this too, and have plans to do a music video, though traditionally that hasn’t borne much fruit. Eh, we do what we wanna do.
